Pegasus Safety and Training news
Pegasus Safety and Training are pleased to have been appointed as induction program provider for Downer EDI Mining at Wambo mine. This exciting development means that Pegasus now manages both the induction program and site personnel access for Wambo and Gunnedah mines.
Neilly O’Donnell, Operations Manager Pegasus Safety, has introduced an innovative change to the delivery of these inductions; ensuring that we are employing the latest technology and staying abreast of business improvements in this area. The Qwizdom system promotes active learning in the training room, where participants are provided a remote control unit that allows them to answer questions posed on a public screen. Each device sends responses direct to the assessment program where it is accessed by the trainer. Qwizdom has been wholeheartedly embraced by trainers, participants and employers, who have all noted the increased engagement and participation of attendees.
Ms O’Donnell said of the Qwizdom induction program, “After the initial induction I received a call from Downer EDI mining’s safety administrator to congratulate us and advise us of the feedback she had received about the induction. The participants enjoyed the new workshop approach that challenged traditional induction training. Qwizdom allowed for greater group discussion in the induction and less time was spent on individual paper based assessment."
