New Development: The Pegasus Worker Portal

Healthcare and Technology Breakfast Hosted by Pegasus
On the eve of the launch of their workforce management solution for the Healthcare Industry, Pegasus hosted a breakfast event to discuss technology solutions which address industry risks and challenges, starting with aged care.
An interim report from the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety was released yesterday, and the natural focus for the first Pegasus Healthcare Industry Breakfast event was risk in aged care services – including managing the compliance and qualifications of healthcare workers.
A big thank you to everyone who attended this morning’s event, sharing their ideas and innovations with a focus on collaboration and the right tech solutions to a complex industry. Attendees included leaders from healthcare providers, government agencies, corporate specialists and local innovators.
Special thank you to Uukoo, integratedliving Australia, The Australian Digital Health Agency, and the Newcastle Incubator Tank for presenting alongside our Head of Business Development, Jo Dixon.

National Safe Work Month: Healthcare Industry & Aged Care

National Safe Work Month: Construction Industry
Preventing worksite tragedies in the construction industry.
This past year has seen a number of tragic accidents on worksites across Australia.
In 2019, Safe Work Australia has already recorded 111 workers killed at work with 17 of them being in the construction industry.
In early September, a construction worker in Ballarat was killed when a wall of the building he was working on collapsed. In August, a worker died in Western Sydney after plunging 30 metres down a shaft in an apartment block in what was described as a preventable workplace incident.
Following tragedies such as these, attention is often drawn to the operators of the sites and questions can sometimes be raised around the vetting, training and safety standards enforced for all onsite workers.
Failure to adequately mitigate risks on a construction site means a simple mistake by one worker can lead to serious damage, injury or death and expose the operator to litigation and costly lawsuits.
The Pegasus online integrated solution is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety in Australia and around the world.
The pre-qualification process collects, compares and verifies your contractors, guaranteeing they reach each of your particular compliance specifications.
The Pegasus solution also provides protection down to the individual worker, with worker competency management providing full visibility of every workers’ licences, certifications and inductions. Vital data to ensure your workers are safe and qualified for each and every task they are required to perform.
Access control and site safety also empowers you to manage site access, hours worked, emergency evacuations, and fatigue of all workers, in real time.
While accidents can unfortunately never be entirely eradicated from construction sites, vital tools such as these can be implemented to significantly reduce the chances of them happening.
Pegasus has been a staple part of workforce management in the construction industry for a number of years and understand the unique industry-specific solutions needed to alleviate the administration, time and financial burdens of safeguarding your business.
The Pegasus construction solution provides the tools to mitigate onsite accidents and save lives.

Self-Service Improvements in the Pegasus Roles Portal
Pegasus is pleased to share a new function update which saves users time when removing workers they no longer employ from the system.
The new Pegasus Roles Portal “End Employment” feature allows users to efficiently remove the employment association/status of workers who are no longer employed by their company.
That means no more calls to Pegasus, as the user simply clicks Manage Employees > selects the Employee > clicks End Employment.
More information about this updated process can be found here.
We look forward to bringing you more time-saving features!

ALDI Expands Pegasus System to Victoria
With contractors at Dandenong and Derrimut now being registered in the CMS, Victoria becomes the fourth state where ALDI has implemented the Pegasus system.
The ALDI and Pegasus partnership goes from strength to strength as contractors in Victoria begin to register in the Contractor Management System (CMS).
The system has been successfully implemented at ALDI sites in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, replacing previous safety platforms and providing significant benefits to ALDI and its contractors.
Pegasus is proud of this partnership and our work keeping ALDI contractors safe on site.

Pegasus Supports Risk Management in Local Government
Pegasus will sponsor and attend a conference in Sydney next week addressing risk management in Local Government.
Our head of Business Development, Jo Dixon will represent Pegasus at the Statewide Mutual Risk Management Conference in Sydney next week – 29 and 30 August.
Pegasus are the experts when it comes to managing contractor and vendor risk. We know that engaging contractors and outsourcing parts of the supply chain makes sense, but with this strategy comes risk – to safety, to quality, and to your reputation.
The Pegasus solution empowers local governments to achieve their safety responsibilities, ensure quality, and reduce risk in one online solution.
Local governments can use this insight to set standards, scale, and report on the contractor workforce for operational success.
We’re looking forward to an interesting and engaging two days!

Change Management With Pegasus – Committed To Success

Committed to Safety: Visy Expands Pegasus Solution
After success in Tumut, NSW, Visy is ready to grow its Pegasus solution to two new states.
Visy, a global leader in the packaging, paper and resource recovery industries, has been operating in Australia for over 70 years. They introduced a Pegasus Contractor Management System to their Pulp and Paper mill in Tumut, NSW a couple of years ago, and have become a valued and vital leader in our manufacturing solution ever since. Approximately 700,00 tonnes of paper per year is milled at Tumut, and they ship to over 50 countries.
The success of our solution – which retains the qualifications and data of over 3,000 contractors, qualified and ready to work at the Tumut mill – means Visy will be expanding it to three new sites in Victoria and Queensland.
The Gibson Island (Queensland) and Reservoir and Coolaroo (Victoria) sites are recycled paper mills. The Pegasus Manufacturing team can’t wait to welcome hundreds of new contractors ready to prove they have the systems and qualifications to partner with Visy and produce quality results.
Visy Pegasus Fast Facts
- Approx. 1,500 workers from over 200 companies are involved in the Major Shutdown (MSD) in Tumut each October. The scope of works is worth $25M and is completed within two weeks.
- 1,000 new workers registered for the MSD in 2018.
- We expect another 600 companies and their associated workers will join the solution when it’s expanded to Reservoir, Coolaroo and Gibson Island.
New Visy Worker Portal
On the topic of expansion – Visy has now implemented the Pegasus Worker Portal for contractor workers! This portal allows workers to manage their own profile and compliance once registered by their company. Workers can edit their personal information, add work roles, update competencies, and upload any required licences.
Some great time-saving safety solutions at work here!
